a special vending machine

A few weeks ago Martin and I walked to lunch past this unique vending machine. Martin’s coworker had also taken the time to point it out to him one day, and Martin thought I would find it interesting too.

Several rows of candy and soda shared shelf space with electrical fuses. Given that this vending machine was located right off the Bahnofstrasse downtown, we speculate that the old buildings nearby must blow fuses frequently enough to require emergency replacements that otherwise might be difficult to locate. Just a few Swiss francs buys you a snack and restored electricity.
