wish-listed // 12.2016 {christmas edition}

dec-wishlist

I must admit to not really feeling the full Christmas spirit yet this year. While I’m thrilled that we’ll be headed home for the holidays in just two weeks, the fact that we celebrated Thanksgiving late and won’t be here for Christmas means that I’ve put off putting up any holiday decorations. Without twinkle lights, even a little tree, and my favorite crazy wooly gnomes and nutcrackers, Christmas music just isn’t cutting it. So, today I’m off to try and fix that with a trip to the Christmas market and hopefully I’ll come home and feel more like getting out at least a few lights. I hope you’re already feeling more jolly and if you need a bit more help shopping, here’s what’s topping my wish-list this month . . .

November is off to a good start with a morning spent swimming with Reese followed by a quiet afternoon, a long nap (Reese), and enjoying the sun shining off the last of autumn’s leaves (me). I just want to curl up with a good book and stay cozy for the rest of the week. But, since I’ll be off to work tomorrow, I’m keeping my spirits up by thinking about some new accessories. So, with that in mind, here’s what’s topping this month’s wish-list . . .

This weekend is the first rainy, chilly weekend of fall in Zürich and I love it. Our house is quiet as all our guests are away and we’re just enjoying quiet time with Reese (mostly chasing her up the stairs), catching up on things around the house, and enjoying a little more lazy time reading and watching Poldark.

As the weather changes, I’m also excited about switching around my closet, opening my sweater drawer more often, and bringing out more cozy blankets and candlelight around our apartment. So, with that in mind, here’s what’s topping this month’s wish-list . . .

We’re still enjoying the last of summer’s heat and humidity, but September is here, fall is in the air, and it’s back to school season. Fall has always been my favorite season, and even though I’m no longer a student, my yearly calendar still resets this time of year thinking about back to school shopping and sweater weather.

So, here’s what is topping this month’s wish-list . . .

wish-listed // 08.2016 {& happy swiss national day} 🇨🇭

aug-wishlistWe’re enjoying a long weekend thanks to Swiss National Day, celebrating the foundation of the Swiss Confederacy (Happy Birthday, Switzerland! 🇨🇭). We’re just laying low after a buy weekend of hiking and sad goodbyes. Our mountain hiking plans were nearly thwarted by a screw in our tire, but we managed a repair with only a 2 hour delay and still made it up to gorgeous Glarus. (More on that on Instagram, and coming soon here.)  Yesterday, we sent Greta back home to Portland, but she’ll be back here with two more posts on her view of Switzerland in the next week.

Here’s what is topping this month’s wish-list . . .

june-wishlistMay went by in a flash and we’re already starting off June with muggy, gloomy weather and thundershowers. Usually the thunder, lightning, and heavy rain is isolated to Reese’s room at night (her bedtime white noise), but this week we’ve seen everything from chickpea-sized hail, huge raindrops, double rainbows, and muggy, sunny afternoons. On that note, I’m feeling all sort of love for things that remind me of the best of summer days–bright colors, short (baby) shorts, and sunshine.

may-wishlist-2

This month marks both my first Mother’s Day and my 35th birthday so I’ve got lots to celebrate. 🙂 I don’t mind aging, but I certainly don’t think of myself as that old/adult when I think about. (Really, how can my college days be so far away already? And law school, too.) That being said, my life is so much more complete shared with Martin and Reese, but I could happily be perpetually 34.
